Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MessMeal, available at messmeal.com (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity performed under your account.

You may belong to one active mess at a time. Mess admins control membership; any member may leave a mess at any time.

• Use the Service only for lawful household cost tracking.
• Do not attempt to access another household's data.
• Do not probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service without permission.
• Do not use the Service to harass others or send unsolicited invitations.

You retain ownership of the data you and your household enter (people, meals, costs, contributions). You grant us the limited right to store and process that data solely to operate the Service for you.

The Service offers a 1-month free trial with full functionality. No credit card is required to start the trial.

To keep the trial fair, the team stays fixed until the mess has an active paid plan: members cannot leave the mess on their own, mess admins cannot remove team members, and the mess cannot be deleted. Contact support if you need help with any of these.

After the trial, continued use requires a subscription (currently $2 / ৳250 per year). Prices are shown at checkout and may change with notice; renewal terms and refund handling will be stated on the payment page when billing goes live.

Admins can delete a mess once it has an active paid plan (deletion is locked during the free trial). Deletion removes the mess from every member's account immediately; underlying data is retained internally for up to 90 days before permanent erasure. There is no self-service restore — if you need a report of a deleted mess's data within that window, contact support.

We aim for reliability but provide the Service "as is" without warranty of uninterrupted availability. We may modify or discontinue features with or without notice. Material changes that reduce core functionality will be communicated in advance where practicable.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MessMeal and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for financial losses arising from cost calculations, entered data or settlement decisions made based on the Service. The calculations reflect the data you enter; verifying settlements before transferring money is your responsibility.

You may stop using the Service and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk or legal exposure for us or other users.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
