Bazaar is everything bought to cook meals: rice, vegetables, fish, meat, eggs, oil, spices, gas cylinders for cooking. It is split by meal units through the pooled rate. Track three fields per entry: date, amount, and (optionally) a note or the cook's name.

The “Paid by” column matters because bazaar spending is effectively a contribution: whoever shopped fronted the money for everyone. At month-end, amounts paid are credited back to each payer before settlement.
Ledger 2: fixed costs
Fixed costs exist whether anyone eats or not — so they split evenly per head, per month, never by meals:

Never average fixed bills into the meal rate
Adding electricity to bazaar before dividing by meals charges light eaters for the building's lights. The moment you see a “meal rate” of ৳51 that includes wifi, the hisab is already broken.
The contribution ledger: who fronted what
Settlement compares what each member should pay (meal cost + fixed share) against what they actually paid (bazaar shopped + bills paid + cash deposits). The difference is their balance:

The zero at the bottom is the accounting identity: everything the mess spent it also collected, so balances must cancel. If they don't cancel, an expense or a payment was logged twice or never.
Settlement: minimum payments
